Day 5 Jose Miranda – Single dad of 3 shares his story from Betrayal, to Forgiveness to New Beginnings!

Jose Miranda

A divorce is not something Jose Miranda ever envisioned for his life and his future but when the shock, awe and pain of brutal reality descended down on him a few years ago in the form of being served with divorce papers Jose knew he had a choice. He could choose to become angry, resentful and bitter or he could do what he’d been telling people to do for years as an ordained minister; “trust God, embrace God’s grace, forgive and experience a brighter future.”

Jose says, “It’s hasn’t been easy but I know the choice to let go of bitterness and unforgiveness is best for my health and the health of my children. It’s been remarkable to see God anchor my children in God’s grace.” Jose goes on to say that, “Going through a divorce is not easy but when you have a belief that can anchor your soul you know you will not only survive but thrive!”

As a single father of 3 Jose focuses on raising his children up in the way they should go and is currently content creator and television program Host for Thrive15.com  where he is mentoring millions of ordinary people to become extraordinary.  Follow Jose on Facebook.

Day 2 – Jeff Pomeroy and his daughter

Check out former Single Dad, Jeff Pomeroy share his story:

1.) DESPAIR – In the summer of 2010 my then wife abandoned me and our three year old daughter. I remember the feeling of coming home that evening with my daughter in my arms both of us sitting alone home that night. As I rocked my baby girl to sleep, she’s crying asking where’s mommy?? I felt alone, betrayed, depressed, lost and asking myself why? I was in disbelief of what happened and asking myself what I’m I going to do now?

2.) HOPE – Coming to the realization that I cannot just crawl into a dark hole and wish it all to go away. I was going to have to raise my little girl on my own. I found hope in my faith, my daughter and understanding my reason WHY. I needed to pull myself up and fight for her to have a better life. I found myself becoming stronger than I thought I was and determined NOT to give up.

3.) LEGACY – Fast forward to today. It’s been 6 years now and I have recently gotten married to a wonderful woman from the Philippines that also has a daughter. My little baby is growing into a beautiful girl and she now has a sister. Teaching my daughter over the last few years principles of staying true to your faith and overcoming obstacles in life. Not letting circumstances beat you down. But rather keep pushing forward and never give up no matter how hard it is. We now are a family of four. We live life with purpose and passion. Together we are building our lives in a positive direction. Has it been easy the last 6 years, NO. It has been a roller coaster, but we are coming out on top and winning. I think God for giving me the strength to make it through this. That’s my story in short. My thoughts and prayers are for men that have found themselves left behind. Don’t give up, dig deep inside yourself and rediscover the person God wants you to be. Your kid(s) are counting on you to win for them and they are watching!

1.) DESPAIR – In 2011 my sons were 10,8,6 & 4 when I was served divorce papers. I was in denial, magical thinking and disbelief for 3 years. As reality began to sink in I self medicated, acted out in anger and became bitter.

2. HOPE-I found divorce recovery and celebrate recovery. It helped me deal with my stuff and find my equilibrium again.

3. LEGACY-I regret the harm that the years and the fears brought between me and my sons. Now, I’m moving forward trying to be in their life as much as possible. But like the song “Cats in the cradle….sure dad, we’ll get together then.” I believe I did the best I could with the tools I had at the time. I’ve given the rest to God to help me accept the things I cannot change and forgive myself for the mistakes I made. I’m a very impatient person and it’s been hard to take this “long road” but I believe things are coming together! That’s my story and my prayer for all the men here is to be at peace with your own heart and with your children if possible.
